(Iran's Environment News Agency) Dr. Masoumeh Ebtekar, Vice president and Head of the Iranian Department of Environment, wins the honorary Energy Globe Award for her internationally acknowledged long-term commitment and efforts aimed at establishment of sustainable development and protection of the Earth.
The prize has been awarded by the Energy Globe Foundation.
Wolfgang Neumann, the founder of the Energy Global Foundation, has said that Ebtekar deserves such an award because despite numerous economic problems in her country she is pushing for an efficient use of energy.
Numann has traveled to Tehran to present the prize to Ebtekar,

Former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev, the cofounder and president of the environmental protection organization Green Cross International, is among personalities who have received the award.
